SHANGRI-LA
A reimagined landscape to suit new owner’s indoor-outdoor active living. Architectural upgrades include a garage for the owners classic cars and a patio canopy for all season use. New concrete paving directs movement through the space and resolves the geometry of the angled pool with the house and garage. A series of steps and planting bands accommodate grade changes and define program space. A wide range of exotic and native plants are layered to build a garden with botanical variety, color and texture richness, and high habitat value. Studio Wild sourced many of the unusual plants for this project from specialty nurseries in the Willamette Valley. Garden beds and a greenhouse (coming soon) facilitate vegetable gardening and overwintering of some of the more delicate plants. Lighting design ups the drama at night and keeps the party going.
